This work deals with the serie of funeral unleashed poems by Cervantes, which covers a courtesan cycle for the death of Isabel of Valois, a tribute to Herrera and a serious-comic diptych to Philip II, a gallery related to the epitaphs of the novels which, nevertheless, should be studied separately. Together, they show the circunstancial and interested nature of the cervantine poetics, as well as offers some interesant keys about his art and allows to outline Cervantes' ideas about some surrounding characters and specially about Philip II.
